Update 0.1.2023-06-11-1


I was busy this weekend, so this release was mostly fixing bugs that were particularly bothering me:

  • When selecting a job for the third level, previously only the left job would show up correctly.
  • Hitting space on the intro screen no longer crashes the game.
  • There were some additional graphical glitches when displaying the various jobs.
  • I started to fix the rotation bug. Sprites would flip on their edge instead of flipping in place like normal. For this release, I fixed the player character's, more or less, but I think I need to tweak the math more because the different animations have different widths.
  • As a bit of a break from bug fixing, I added an email format, so you can get jobs by email, too. You won't actually get jobs that use it yet, however.

Unfortunately, I didn't fix the issue most people pointed out, which is that the hit detection isn't very good. I would like to fix that, both because it's really holding this game back and because I would like to understand hit detection better for future games.

Beyond that, I have quite a few ideas, as "small business Vampire Survivor" is a pretty flexible concept. My main game project is still going to be Isometric Park, (not to mention my non-gamedev projects) but I would like to, ahem, flesh out Spooks-Be-Gone.
